Why do i need a Palm/PDA device? It's like a computer. Before you use one, you don't think you need it or don't think you'll rely on it so much. Later, you can't live without it and recognize this if it were to stop working. PC users as well as those without a computer can use a Palm PDA to keep contact information like names, addresses, phone numbers, passwords, account information, notes, tasks/to-do lists, aisle sorting shopping lists, memos, reminders with and without alarms, tracking anything from your calorie or protein intake to your gas mileage, keeps and calculates your checkbook and credit card balances, use it as a universal remote for your TV, carry as manage pictures as you want without stuffing your wallet or purse, write letters with a spell checker or make/edit a spreadsheet which automatically synchronizes the most up to date version with your computer, organize anything from stamp collections to food music CD's, and much more. enter the information on your Palm and it automatically transfers to your computer with a press of a button. Some of the programs I use which synchronizes to my computer are my checkbook, spreadsheets, word documents, all outlook information like email, tasks, memos, and calendar. When you get a 'smart phone', which uses the Palm operating system (PalmOS), you have a small powerful mini-computer. You get everything listed above and a cell phone, internet browser (can view ANY web page unlike most cell phones), email with file attachments, camera capability with the option to transfer images or movies to your printer or your PC, Bluetooth technology so you can have wireless headset for hands-free phone calls, transfer files to/from your computer, GPRS which is like a dedicated internet connection and gives you a notice the second you get an email, remote desktop control where you can actually control/use your desktop computer from anywhere in the world, view your security camera at home live/real-time, watch movies, listen to music with it's built-in MP3 player, sketch drawings or just doodle, take orders with signatures and print from your computer or a wireless infra-red port, record voice memos with a touch of one button and listen to them or burn them on a CD, multi-task like talking on the cell phone, looking up a contact, and browsing the internet at the same time, send text or video SMS/MMS messages with a fast mini-keyboard instead of trying to use a bunch of alt-number combinations just to type one character, look up a word in a dictionary, read an e-book or encyclopedia, get weather, sports, news, movies on a big high resolution screen unlike most cell phones, design your own database and keep your data with you anywhere you go, and much much more. It's made me more productive, organized, connected, and informed. Plus, unlike most PDA and phone devices, there are THOUSANDS of programs available for the Palm operating system and Palm device. PalmOne is a great brand but there are others which run PalmOS programs like ours. You may ask yourself, "why haven't I bought one and how can i not get one?". I have the PalmOne Treo 600 (Palm smartphone), which I use for business and personal. It's changed my life for the better. Ask yourself how it can change yours.
